This wonderful tour created for those of you who want to stay in some of the best accomodation while visiting Morocco, will not disappoint you.

You will have a personal driver in a new, comfortable 4 x 4 or Minibus who will also be your guide during your visit. He will expertly drive you from Marrakech over the High Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert before driving up north to Fez.

Further Information

Day 1 
Pick up with a private driver in a comfortable 4 x 4 or a Minibus at Marrakech Airport and drive the short journey to the Medina. Once settled in to your riad, your driver and guide will pick you up and take you for a walk into the souks of Marrakech. Sip a traditional Moroccan tea in Jemaa El Fna watching the world go by before returning to your riad to relax.
 

Day 2

After breakfast, your driver and guide will pick you up and take you to visit the blue gardens of Jardin Majorelle and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and Bahia Palace. Walk around the Medina and visit the tanneries and food markets. 

Day 3 

Leave Marrakech at 9am with your driver and head towards the spectacular Ourika Valley to escape the heat of Marrakech. Stop at Amina Gardens before stopping at the river for lunch. Walk to the Setti Fadma waterfalls before been driven back to the wonderful Kasbah Bab Ourika to relax in the gardens or swim in the pool.

Day 4

After breakfast, you will drive over Tichka Pass into the High Atlas Mountains and through many Berber villages, until you arrive at the village of Ait Ben Haddou and the UNESCO heritage site kasbah that has been used for numerous films such as Laurance of Arabia. There are many kasbahs in North Africa, and this one is the most famous, built with hay and mud.

There is a river that can be crossed with stepping stones to the Kasbah and a short climb to the top.

 

The evening is yours to enjoy on one of the terraces at Kasbah Isfoula, just a short distance away from the village.

Day 5 

A 30-minute drive to Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Morocco! Home to the film studios! Let us know if this interests you and we can organise a visit!

 

The drive to Boumalne Dades should take 2 hours. Stunning scenery of ancient red Kasbahs in luscious green oasis with the Middle Atlas Mountains in the background. Arrive at Dades Gorge with its stunning rock formations before relaxing at Xaluca Dades.

Day 6  

After breakfast, you will continue with the journey towards the desert. Enjoy the drive through the Valley of the Roses and a thousand Kasbahs. Plenty of stops to take photos and buy some of the products made with the roses. Pass through Tinghir and on to Erfoud, a town in Southern Morocco where you will stop to visit the fossil museum and the dates market. The best Medjoul dates EVER!!!

Finally arrive at the stunning huge red sand dunes or Erg Chebbi in the village of Hassiliabed. You will stay in Riad Madu.

Day 7

Your driver will meet you after breakfast and take you to the beautiful green oasis in Hassilibed where you can walk with the famous red sand dunes of Erg Chebbi as a background.  

Head towards the neighbouring desert village of Merzouga and K’hemlia.

You can drink camel milk if you are brave enough in the village of Merzouga! Buy a turban in a colour of your choice ready for the camel ride over the dunes later in the day.  

K’hemlia is where you will experience Gnaoua music and join in with the dancing to the African drums.

Lunch at Café Sahara Time in the dunes!

5pm Camel trek over the dunes towards Sahara Sky Luxury camp. Relax a little and take fantastic photos before a delicious dinner served at the camp and Berber music around the campfire.

Day 8 

Busy day, but well worth it!!

Wake up early to see the sunrise at the camp, have breakfast al fresco and return to the village by camels or if you prefer with a 4x4.

Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday are market days in Rissani. It is like stepping back in time! Great experience to haggle at the souk in the compact stalls filled with argan oil, herbs, spices, carpets, shoes and much more!

A free afternoon to relax and pack up to leave the next day.

Day 9

Time to say farewell to the desert and begin the journey towards the north.

You will stop in Azrou (in the province of Ifrane) at the Cedar trees where the wild monkeys will be there to greet you!

Visit the Roman site of Volubilis in Meknes, and stay in the middle of the vineyard in the Chateau Roselane in Meknes.

Day 10

After a lazy morning around the vineyard, you will drive a short journey to the final destination of the trip, Fez. You have a free afternoon to relax at the fabulous Jardins de Biehn in its scented gardens of Isfahan roses, Jasmin, orange blossom and bergamot.

 

Day 11

You will be picked up by your driver for go on a  food tour in the medina in the morning, where you will buy ingredients in the market and cook traditional Moroccan food in a family home. Shopping tours available if you prefer.

A free afternoon to go to hammam or relax before heading home the next day. (Let me know if you want to book a hammam and a massage).

Another wonderful night at Jardins de Biehn.

Day 12

Your driver will pick you up and take you to Fez airport.
